I experimented with a couple of different monograms and a few variations for each to see which one is looking visually balanced and fun.
We made all of the monograms on grid paper to maintain a geometric structure for the letters.
Publication Design
Honestly I just wanted to experiment and have fun with the layouts as a break from my other college projects that were getting taxing. I love Harry Potter and they have a newspaper in the movie called The Daily Prophet. I was very inspired by the typography in that newspaper so I decided to make my book look like it. My professor wasn’t too happy with my decision, understandably so, but I had so much fun laying the book out.

As a part of a college workshop, we had to manually make a monogram of any company using a calligraphy pen and then digitise it. The process started by practicing calligraphy strokes, understanding the anatomy of type, and learning how to use beziers on illustrator to accurately trace objects. I chose the letters J&P.
