The publication is printed on recycled news paper. The reason being- the texture and transparency of the paper gives a minimal and easy to flip base for the book.

The layout borrows styles from Swiss design and Nordic styles too. It is typeset in Helvetica, makes use of a three column grid system and images with a 20% transparency.

The page dividers are half cropped to indicate a chapter ending for easy readability and navigation.

The book starts by giving a concise introduction behind the design styles for each art movement. It proceeds to explain how the narratives of these styles have changed in the current context. This is illustrated through case studies of different packaging projects.

This project was a part of my second year research in college. It is based on the revival of Swiss and Nordic brand identities through a Neo-Retro lens. The purpose of this project was to define the relationship between new generation subcultures and how they impact pre-exisiting design styles. This relationship is being explored by studying Food and Beverage packaging.
