PROJECT

BRIEF

The brief of this photography project was to tell a story by creating a taxonomy of images.

Taxonomy is a branch of science concerned with classification, especially of organisms; it is a scheme of classification used to classify objects under different categories.

Hair can be considered as a conspicuous object of confidence. It enrobes you in

personality. It might even give you a sense of comfort in your own skin. Hair can tell a lot about a person. Tied up or let loose? Short or long? Coloured or natural? It might be able to accurately unravel the mysteries and wonders of the human. The girl who’s forehead is shadowed by a tuft of hair? The shy, timid and reserved one. The one with a messy bun? Carefree and nonchalant. The one whos eyes sharply gaze beyond the curtains of her hair? Scared of taking life as it comes, she needs an awning of protection. The question that arises is, do we really require the entire facade of a person to decipher whether they are a saint or a serial killer?

“Red hair, sir, in my opinion, is dangerous.”
